High Fat, Low Fat. Low Carb, No Carb.

Do you watch what you eat? Do you know what your food is made of? What you choose to put in your mouth plays a more important role in weight loss as well as overall health than most people think. With all the new “healthy diets” floating around it can be extremely frustrating and confusing. Today I will try to clear a few things up for you.

The less ingredients on the package the better. High fat, low fat. All meat, no meat. Low carb, no carb. The information is overwhelming. What most seem to agree on is that we need to consume less processed foods.

If the item is in a package then look at the ingredients list to see what it contains. Be aware of what you are putting in your body. Whole grains, fresh fruit/vegetables, and unprocessed meats are some examples of the foods that may help you obtain your goals.

Give it a try. Experiment with yourself. You don't have to start by throwing away all the “bad” stuff in your pantry. Start with something that is manageable. Pick 1 item that you know is not the best for you and eliminate it from your diet for a week and see how it goes. You can also choose 1 day of the week to experience a new way of eating, for example “Meatless Monday”. Change it up. If something works, keep doing it. You do not have to be perfect to be successful, just consistent.
