Worn and Haggard. . .

Worn and haggard. . .

Ever feel like the world is against you? Find it difficult to stay motivated to exercise? Hard to stick to a healthy eating plan? You can’t catch a break? I understand. We all feel overwhelmed at times, that’s normal. Sometimes we need help, a support system to fall back on. Someone to support us through life. merriam-webster.com defines support group as a network of people who provide an individual with practical or emotional support.

Using a support system to hold you accountable to an exercise/eating program will better ensure your success. As the demands of life begin to take hold, we can seek guidance from those whom we have chosen to support our efforts. Success is not guaranteed but if there’s someone to share their experience as well as lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on, we are more apt to succeed in our pursuits.

If you already have a support system then GREAT! Keep using it. If not, it’s time to start looking. Be deliberate with your choices. Support systems can come in different sizes. Many look to close family and friends. Some want a specific type of group (running, biking). Many join a gym. You have to decide what’s best and will work for you. Brainstorm some ideas and go for it. You won’t know if you don’t ask.

A network of people who provide support can turn out to be priceless. They are there to lift you up when you are down, enjoy your triumphs and provide valuable feedback along the way. Try it out and see what works best for you. The process doesn't have to be perfect. There will be times you will fail. That’s ok. Consistency is what will furnish the results you seek.

Until next time. Have a GREAT day!
